theHunter Classic on Linux Mint

Hi everyone

Never thought I'd be at this point - I am investigating moving from Windows to Linux Mint (I have been using Windows since Windows 1 - yeah, you read that right).

I've built a machine very similar to my own desktop - I5, 8 gigs of RAM. I'm trying to get a steam install to run the Hunter, and not having much joy.

What happens is installation goes totally successfully. When I start the Hunter Classic, it starts to load - looks like half a web page is downloaded - and then the app freezes.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong but since my knowledge of Linux is - well -none - I do not have any way forward. Can anyone make any suggestions?
