Re: Coincidence or not?
I play a lot. I play often and I do long hunts. I've recently compared my hours in the game per month to many new players I find in the top tens on the leaderboards, and I find that I play a helluva lot more than they do and yet I am almost never on the leaderboards. (Coincidentally, and consequently against my argument, I am currently on the leaderboard top tens for the first time in over a year, and worse, on two different species at the same time for the first time in at least 5 or 6 years, but it's early in the season..., and that will change.) In the last 5 years I've been on the leaderboard top tens at the end of the season maybe 3 or 4 times, at most. That, to me, speaks volumes when compared to the small number of hours put in by the sheer number of players who are still there at the end of the season with a Hunter score of less than 1500.
Just as "game balance" makes sense to sell so many different weapons to players who really only need the free basic weapons, so "game balance" also makes sense in bigger, better harvests to encourage new players to continue playing. It's obviously not cold case provable with DNA evidence, but where there's stink there's generally a carcass, and it smells a little fishy around here to me sometimes. I hunt often enough that if the numbers are fair and equal across the spectrum of player's 'tiers,' which we know exist, I should get just as many top tens as everyone else per hour of play time, and I simply do not, not even close. (I'm not that bad of hunter, honestly..., they just aren't there.)
Incidentally, the first animal I ever shot in this game, on my very first hunt, within the first 15 minutes, was a 200+ whitetail buck that was disqualified because I didn't have a license yet: I hadn't finished the tutorial yet so... bupkis. But when I did get the license, on my first hunt on Redfeather I got a 220+ moose about 100 yards from the lodge within the first 5 minutes. I never got another 200+ whitetail ever, or another 220+ moose for the next couple of years, but it seemed a little front end loaded to me at the time, and it still does. Coincidence? maybe. But recently I added a new account and have been on the top ten leaderboards twice already in the first six months vs the measly 3 or 4 times in 5 years on my normal account. And that's why I'm a conspiracy theorist.

Re: Coincidence or not?
I think I am going to sneak in with a new account and no one will know who or when or who I am and I will take the game by storm with my trusty .243 Ha Ha As the newest super hunter that has all the big ones load ever time for the taking.
For you see a vet just about never gets the largest animal's to load
So just imagine I person with 15 years in game plus around 1500 hrs as a beta tester will do under cover DAM I just broke my cover in this post LOL
Hum that could be fun

If there are any people who do not believe this just take a look at leaderboard and check the amount of new players on the list compared to vets.
In the last 6 years of playing TH I have got one animals one time on leaderboard
I rest my case

Re: Coincidence or not?
You all know I start a lot of accounts. It's a brand new account with nothing carrying over. I've done this for almost 3 years. I'm in one now that's just a few days old.
I've never been on the upper leaderboard. I think 15th was the best with a 426 RME. Only one time and I never get into the 400's now.

And you say you change accounts often
And for what reason would that be?
And you tell me you just go and buy all the stuff again REALLY

Re: Coincidence or not?
I've grown tired of explaining why I start new accounts all the time. I've explained it here and on Steam forum. Yes, I did buy everything again for almost a year. I don't anymore and how I can do that is personal.
Are you doubting that I change accounts a lot? I'd say over 100 times.
