Whiterime Ridge Snow Too Bright - Any Fix ??

Post by LoganMalone »

The snow on Whiterime Ridge is too bright for me after about 9:30 AM. My computer screen feels like I'm staring into a bright flashlight. I wear snow goggles and I have the gamma in the game settings turned completely to minimum level...plus I have my graphic card gamma setting turn off when this game launches. Has anyone found a permanent solution to reduce the overpowering snow glare other than what I've tried thus far?

Thanks

Why turn graphic card gamma off? Turn it back on and lower it to make it darker. You can adjust game gamma gamma darker too. Then you have brightness adjustment to make darker too.

Lot's to make darker and that map needs it. I stay away from that map now.

btw....Play the map early in the morning for darker too. 5-6am.

Yes, I did turn the graphics card gamma back on and tried messing with it, nothing works well. I may just have to start my hunts at 5 am until 9 am, however its been difficult to locate Bison that early since they are sleeping in small groups from what I've seen so far. I was hoping the Devs would know what alternative recommendations they could suggest.

Your monitor brightness control doesn't help?

The dark glasses from the store can also help somewhat.

I've tried all kinds of glasses and none of them work, the only solution is to go out at 5am. I have never seen bison sleeping, there are many bison grazing at 5am.

Either start at 5:00, or start at 16:00 and when the day ends at 19:00, travel to a lodge or tent and continue. Glasses are no improvement to me. Tracks are hard to see between 8:00 and 16:00. No difference by the way in any of the animal populations at the early or late times.

It would be nice if the devs could tone down the brightness. This is a game and it should be made to play without blinding us. In real life sunglasses work in the snow.

Yep, you either hunt early or late. Snowblindness is a thing, whether intentional or not. The glasses are some improvement but far from perfect.

I use the glasses and they help a little. I like the extra challenge to be honest. After all the artic is no joke.
Plus you have a good reason to use your scent hound. At least thats what I do.
