Yes, I've seen it. I'm not on weights yet for bears but I see sometimes a lot on mule deer and feral hogs.

Did the change happen right after you spotted the animal? I've had this happen after I spotted an animal and was wondering if maybe the estimate changes to reflect the more accurate spotted weight? Perhaps just a coincidence.

Good question. It should update after you spotted it.

In my case at least, it always happened after I spotted the animal, but after spotting the weights would still not reflect the spot estimate, and in the case of deer, would actually bounce back and forth between the original weight estimate and a number lower than the estimated spotted weight. So basically I would get three completely numbers within a broad range that changed . . . I could be wrong, but I THINK (I wasn't paying specific attention to which track type at the time) that the different numbers would appear between actual tracks and scat, with each reporting a different number.

I blew it off because of my low tracking skills, and just figured that it was a range that would get closer as my skills went up. *shrugs*

Interesting. I'll pay more attention too when I get a chance to do some hunting.

I have seen this many times where the track estimate is a little bigger then the spot estimate and after spotting the animal the track will change to match the spot estimate.
