Re: How To Aim Correctly

Post by Modifly1 »

Grrr, :x Took a shot on my very first non-typical whitetail today. From a tower, front on shot, angle on bow about maybe 10 degrees. Right down the middle and got told 'Body' shot. Why this time?

Image This photo shows the hit location.

Image This one shows my overall 'view' that I had at the time of the shot. It was in a tower looking down to about where the centre of the photo was.

https://photos.google.com/search/_m8_Fa ... j4nbfyD-jM I hope this link works but my simulated shot shows no reason why this couldn't possibly hit the vitals somewhere.

Help pls.

Don't shoot down the middle. You shot between the lungs. I don't believe that's possible in real life but the devs think it is. If nothing else you should hit the liver. Shoot a bit to one side to make sure you hit a lung.

A double lung shot from the side is always better. Don't be in a rush. A proper shot is always worth waiting for.

Sometimes the best shot is patience.

Well that's certainly true. My more patient shots tend to result in better kills. But yeah I figured it might be the game claiming an 'in between' shot. I mean I did have a perfect heart shot today from a front on shot, but that never seems to work from towers. I take it heart shots aren't recommended too often due to a small size compared to lungs?

I never aim for the heart.

To aim for the hearth especially from towers, is not a good choice. Generally a lung shot is always better.

Well I'm glad it's not just me. I stopped taking heart shots after my first two weeks of playing the game. If I can get one it's great but I sure as hell don't rely on it. Anyhow I'll try offsetting next time and see if I can get some better luck. While we're here, I saw a video recently of a 'hack' for 6.5 Creedmoor. Supposed to be that if you get the range-2=mils

Does that rule work in this? I haven't used a 6.5 yet.

The 6.5 caliber in the game is not creedmore, but rather 6.5 swedish.

Ah right. Another round I need to research. Do they have plans to put the Creedmore in at any point? I'm pretty sure it'd be an awaited cartridge.

Nothing wrong with the Sweedish 6.5x55. It's used for moose and should have no problem with the deer you're hunting.
