.454

Post by Maxmunger8 »

I bought the .454 El Toro today and took it out to Piccabeen Bay. Within my hunt I found many water buffalos and took shots at all them. Head shots, lung shots, long shots, short shots and I realized something. The .454 is a complete waste of money and time. The .454 Casull in real life is not a weak round, so you would think that would be the case in a realistic hunting game such as Classic. You guys mine as well use a .22 Grasshopper to defend yourself. I wish they would just increase the power of the gun, maybe then it is worth 9775 gms.

You want super high penetration from a handgun round? There is a reason they are not hunted with handguns in real life. Not being able to one-shot a water buffalo does not make it a weak round.

Try this with the .454, when the water buffalo is looking at you aim for the center of its left ear... this seems to hit either the heart or the lung. Sounds silly, I know. But, try it you might be surprised. ;) Peace,

I was also really frustrated by the .454. At one point I found out that, on broadside shots, you have aim very low(<1/4 from the bottom line.) If you are close, this will be a lung shot in most cases.

I bought it as a bear charge stopper. It does that well.

I use rifles to hunt with.

I assumed you would use the muzzleloader pistol for that. :)

Good idea.

Actually, the caplock with no scope is fast to get on a bear charging. I killed a few like that as OMN. I never use the .454 if i'm hunting traditionally.
