I have heard of him & own more knives than I have a use for but I tend to favor more classic hunter styles, drop point skinners in damascus steel with a nice stag grip in what I love! I do collect swords though, now THATS an expensive hobby!

Thanks Jack! This HOGB8 is a splitting maul, it's something else and very comfortable- There's a funny back story to it coming to life. They started a thread in the forum in 2013 requesting it- over 12,000 posts, 600,000 views later it happened....
Hey, blades are blades! That Damascus Chef knife you speak of, that's serious kitchen tools for sure. Many of the guys who collect are also bladesmiths, they are just into blades. One of the guys is a retired NASA engineer makes them as a hobby and sent me pictures of a Japanese style Chef's knife he was commissioned to do. It was a beautiful piece of art - He forges his own Damascus, does it all start to finish. He made the sheath from some antique teak with an ivory peg retainer. Looked like something in a museum.

Oh boy, do I ever have something on order just for you  Busse has made a Gladius, just google Busse Gladius and get lost in space. He recently announced a FM V14 - 14" blade built in the same style as the FM V8 dagger I have coming- I had to order one. He also offered up a "Nuke" version - it's going to be special from the custom shop - I had to order one to go with my V8 But those who got in on the Nuke version- which only lasted about 20 minutes- won't know what they are getting until they open the box. It will be the only one I get- I need it like a hole in the head.

Here's a picture of the V8 next to the V14. Image

Couple of my latest arrivals. More eye candy for the soul in hardened and sharpened steel :D

The "Busse Forsaken Mistress" in comp finish with black canvas micarta handles. I put an 18" rule in one pic for perspective and my toy cap gun in another 8-)

This is a really special snag - these sold out in under a minute when they went live back in February. The wait was worth it for this amazing piece of steel work. I think this is only the 3rd dagger Jerry has ever made in 30 plus years and the ones he has made are rare and stupid expensive so I feel very lucky to have scored some amazing bacon! (That's what we call the steel he makes, Infi. There's a whole Hog, bacon, pork theme to it all in "Busse" world  ~ Kind of have to be there. When you are a noob *as in myself* you're referred to as a piglet and the old guard are the hogs~ At some point, if you are a dedicated and contributing piglet who collects a small pile of "bacon" you get are inducted and given your "hog name" by the Bossman~ I even hear there's a secret handshake  ~ I think a lot of this comes from excessive consumption of the spirits as well. How else would one explain how they even come up with this stuff?

I present the "Force Multiplier V8 Nuked" version `

Oh wow very nice!
Have any Bowie knives with a gut hook for sale? Preferably with an antler or nice wood grip?

He's never made one with a gut hook and he has made very few ever with a Bowie clip. His whole theme is extreme fixed blades in his proprietary steel "Infi" . It's a carbon steel that acts more like a stainless although there's very little chromium at all in it. He has a secret heat treat protocol that produces a tough and flexible steel. There's video of taking one of his long Japanese style swords and bending it 180 degrees without cracking/breaking. All the knives I've posted can be put in a vice and flexed beyond 30 degrees and it returns to straight. there's been all kinds of funny videos of people doing crazy stuff to it. One guy took a sledge hammer and drove a Team Gemini through his driveway (a $600 knife btw) to the guard, used a crowbar to pry it out and then shaved hair off his arm and sliced paper with it. A few other people have put them in a vice and fired guns at them to split bullets. Jerry's brother shot one with a 50 cal Barrett and split the bullet- no damage to the edge other than rolling it a little bit but no chipping. Now another sharp tool put the blade sideways and shot it- It knocked a chunk of steel out of the edge and Jerry warrantied it and gave him another but said "don't do that again" ~ Another guy used a Boss Jack as a pry bar to get his trailer off his trailer ball on his truck and broke the tip off- fully covered under the warranty. Last year one fell off a guys lawn mower while mowing and got shot out the deck - put some dings in it and cracked the handle- Jerry sent him a new one and kept it to use for advertising. It caused more damage to his lawnmower than the knife by punching holes in his deck and bending 2 mower blades. And since Jerry lives a mile from me and his production manager is my neighbor so of course I'm a fan now. He's kept me broke for the last year

The long awaited Busse Force Multiplier V-14 Nuked version has arrived! More affectionately known as the V Force Mama which hints that a longer "Pappa" version may come along at some point. I've paired it with the FMV8 Nuke to give it perspective, 8" blade compared to the 14" - edit - I just looked, this was ordered on May 16th - so it takes some patience

One of the stipulations of getting in on the Nuke version is, it was a grab bag affair meaning you didn't know what handle material you would be getting. The blade is highly finished and polished which is what makes it different from the rest along with the Busse Custom Shop logo. I was lucky enough to score an outstanding handle and so far as I know never before released dark tigerhide linen micarta handle. I'm super pleased with the outcome, so far it's the only one to show up. I think some of the others are slightly envious - but I also like all of the other ones I've seen as well, you really can't go wrong. I really like this blade a lot but I also will probably let it go. It's awesome, amazing but totally impractical  I can't ever see myself actually using it and besides, these are more for collector purposes but I just had to see what it was like to hold such a beast of polished up Infi steel. I don't know how many of these were made but it was an extremely limited run of custom shop models. There may be only a dozen or 2 in total.

Nice lookin' blades! The handles are awesome. How does one get a hold of such beauty? Those blades sound like they can go through anything, and have some flex too, which is always good. Less chance of breakin'. One word "NICE". ;) Peace.

BCKidd.

Dang Len, that handle is beautiful! That stuff might be kind of fun to play around with on a bow handle.

Meh! I did a google and found http://www.bussecombat.com/
I went in there and stright back again, emediately stright back to my kitchen bar and grab a cold one actually, you could have told me its KnifePorn those guys are making!
Dang, If I knew those guys as a neighbour, I would definetly have made them make me a Machete with the name Pretty Boy on it, in bold text
I like knifes very much (Colt Steel if I remember the brand correct), but I'we not made it as a priority to buy one.
But this page above, glugg glugg glugg, made me sweat
