True RED DOT for 12ga Pump Shotgun

Post by Luziano »

I think after the AIMPOINT sights got released, the old clunky red dot scope we have for the shotgun should have been remade into a true red dot sight.

We are missing a true red dot for the shotgun, which does not obscure the field of view like the old one does.

Have you tried the Slug-scope for shotguns? In your opinion would you say that has a larger, equal, or more narrow FOV than the red dot?

you are missing the point; we should have a full field of view as we do with the Aimpoint red dots.

He is asking for a reflex sight for duck hunting and such not a slug scope for long range.

Exactly, but also to get a similar feel than using the iron sights yet with a lot more precision for shot placement. Those aimpoints are excellent. That why I thought the shotguns are missing one.

I agree.
In truth, all they really have to do is allow the Aimpoint sights to be used on shotguns.
Really, all sights should be able to be used on all weapons as they should almost all use the standard 20mm mounts. the exceptions to this being rimfire rifles like 17hmr and 22, which use 11mm "dovetail" mounts. Even then you can use the same optics, just need the right mounts.
