Welcome to the Next Gen Mini Comps Rotation 2

These competitions will last 48 hours! Keep your eyes open for the next!
I’ll be using a point system- 1st Place 6 points, 2nd Place 5 points, 3rd place 3 points, per mini-comp win. You will need 30 points to get a payout of 1000EM$. Anything over 30 points gets carried over to your next score.
Non-participation in any mini-comp does not subtract from any points you accumulate. Your points accumulate with each and every win!
30 points = 1000EM$.
All submissions must be made in the English language.
~~It is the competitors responsibility to know when the comp starts and ends in their Time Zones. Here is a handy link: https://savvytime.com/converter/gmt-to-pst

Essentially, I will announce on this thread when the comp officially starts and ends.

Ok, so this is a little different. I understand that there are no SINGLE ANIMAL improvements allowed. Each submission must include three animals from THAT particular hunt.

However, can you clarify "...without going over 18,000"? Did you mean:

-We can harvest as many grouse as we want in one hunt , then do a lot of math and choose the three whose score combined is closest to 18,000?
OR
-We can harvest only three grouse per hunt, and hope that their combined scores are closest to 18,000?

I prefer wholesale bird slaughter and lots of math, myself... :)

I wonder how many Wood Grouse one could kill in five hours? I think harvesting as many as one can, and then sorting through it all to submit what will get us as close to 18k, is a bit easy- unless of course I add that at least one Grouse should be flying. My thought had always been three Grouse per attempt, I see now tho' that ain't specified. It is now. If others think it should be as many as one can harvest and then work out the math, post your thoughts here. We still have time to make changes, that suit everyone. ;)

I think that if we only kill three per hunt we leave it even more to luck, as if you were playing cards in the casino.

So you would rather like it to be shoot as many as you want? That seems much easier to me, but, that doesn't mean it can't be that way. Let see what others think. If it turns out to be "shoot as many" as we want- I would add a stipulation that at least one grouse, would have to be in the "flying state". Having a surplus of grouse to pick from to make up 18000 would surely be easiest, being able to harvest only 3 means we'd have to pay attention and be careful.

Leave it be fairness is your objective in all your comps and my vote is 3 grouse with one attempt and 3 attempts.

It seems currently we have 2 limitations, 1 for the number of Grouse harvested and 2 for not going over 18k. With two limitations it sounds like luck would play heavily in the outcome. I would propose only one limitation. Post 3 grouse closest to 18k, with no limit on grouse harvested, or harvest only 3 grouse with no limit on the total score.
I'll play no matter how it ends up.

I am all for 3 grouse per attempt. I feel like the competitors won't have an extra advantage over any one else, as the wood grouse are still relatively new, so most skills levels are close. So here is my 2 cents worth, I say Harvest only 3 grouse per attempt, the closet to 18k without going over wins. :D I think Luck will be at play in this comp. I'll give it a go. At least I know that I can find and shoot at least 3 grouse per attempt, 5 hrs per attempt. Seems easy enough.... I think  ;)

I think with my setup (as platforms are allowed), I'll have a hard time shooting only three grouse. Those noisy cluckers will come running in and will surround me, making all sorts of racket, and I can't blast them all?!? Ack!

There he goes - BCKidd trying to teach us some discipline while hunting again! He was going too easy with all the "missed shots allowed" lately! ;)

Feel free to blast as many as you want folks, but only your first three harvests per attempt will count. I think that takes care of the want by some to shoot as many as possible, but also keeps it fair. Good luck! ;)
